2026 Gerophysics Workshop

October 6th 9-5pm

Pechet Room, Joseph B. Martin Conference Center 77 Avenue Louis Pasteur Boston, MA 02115

More details coming soon!

Is biological aging an inevitable thermodynamic breakdown, or a constrained property of complex dynamical systems?

This one-day workshop gathers leading researchers to explore Gerophysics, the emerging intersection of theoretical physics, statistical mechanics, and aging science. By moving beyond descriptive biology, this event focuses on the quantitative laws, mathematical models, and physical principles that govern organismal decline and determine the fundamental limits of lifespan. Key sessions will examine Aging Theory, Constraints on Living Matter, energy dissipation in living systems, and debate the concepts of Irreversibility. The day culminates in an interactive Whiteboard Session, where speakers and attendees will collaboratively sketch out new mathematical frameworks, debate open paradoxes, and establish future directions for the field.

We invite attendees to submit abstracts for a limited number of short talk slots via the BoA abstract submission system.
